How Back At You is turning a platform change into an opportunity for more visibility for your listings, agents, and brokerage content.

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Key Takeaways

  • Video is where Facebook attention is moving: Meta reported that Facebook video watch time grew more than 8% in Q1 2026, its largest quarterly increase in four years.
  • 60% of the time on Facebook is spent watching videos.
  • Links have the lowest engagement by far than any other post type at 0.03%.
  • According to Back At You platform data on 82,000 posts, organic listing videos reached 3x as many people per post compared to posts with a listing link.
  • Links have been deprioritized over the years and were already limited in the feed. Facebook is using the playbook of Instagram and Tiktok to focus on video and not allowing links.
  • Back At You Social is turning listing link posts into listing videos, created automatically and with custom branding. More video returns more visibility.
  • Back At You Social is creating a new lead generation pipeline that will generate more and better quality leads.
  • Advertising a listing remains the same as Back At You has proprietary software to ensure listings are promoted, viewed, and leads are generated.

Even before Meta began capping link posts on Facebook business Pages, Back At You was already shifting its strategy toward video across all content. Social media is evolving, and so is how your listings show up. Static listing posts are transforming into custom-branded listing videos, while our daily automated content posted for our clients is moving entirely to native video and rich graphics. It’s the biggest upgrade to our automated social engine in years, built directly around the video formats algorithms favor most.

To be transparent on timing: Meta’s recent limit of two link posts per month accelerated our rollout, but static link posts were already our lowest-performing content type. Real estate social media isn’t about chasing outbound clicks; it’s about starting conversations and capturing leads. A compelling listing video starts far more conversations than a link ever could.

What is Facebook’s link limit?

Facebook’s link limit caps some business Pages at two posts with links per month. Meta has tested it since December 2025 and expanded it in September alongside its Meta One business plans. According to Meta’s in-app notice and Help Center, links in comments count too, while links to Meta’s own apps, like Instagram and WhatsApp, don’t. Posting more links requires a paid Meta One plan.

Not every Page has the limit yet, and Facebook doesn’t warn a Page ahead of time. That’s why we’re preparing every Back At You Page now instead of waiting. You don’t need to buy a Meta One plan to keep your automated posting running.

Why is video taking over the Facebook feed?

Facebook is steering attention toward video and away from links. On its Q1 2026 earnings call, Meta reported that Facebook video watch time grew more than 8% in the quarter, the biggest quarterly jump in four years. Over the same stretch, links all but disappeared from what people see.

In Meta’s Widely Viewed Content Report, 98.7% of US Feed views in Q1 2026 didn’t include a link to a source outside Facebook. When Meta started reporting the figure in 2022, 9.8% of viewed content included a link.

Both trends point the same way. Facebook wants people watching and talking on Facebook, and it ranks posts to match. Keeping up with that is part of our job, so you don’t have to track every change in how the feed works. Plus, Instagram and Tiktok have avoided links and focus on videos, so it’s no surprise Facebook is adopting a similar approach.

What does Back At You’s data show about listing video?

Listing video is the highest-reach format for Back At You Social posts on Facebook. Across 82,000 organic listing posts over 90 days listing videos reached about 3x as many people as listing link posts. Video also drew about twice the engagement than listing link based posts.

For everyday content, the takeaway is about format more than video alone. Interactive photo posts were among the strongest everyday posts we measured, and link posts were the weakest by far. So the new mix is native video and images that are personal to your market, with the links taken out.

What’s changing in Back At You Social?

Every Back At You Facebook post that used to rely on a link is moving to a native format, starting with listings. Here’s the before and after in Back At You Social.

Listing posts become listing videos that include your branding

Back At You Social posts a listing video and uses your custom branding as its cover image. The first thing people see carries your branding, your contact details and your brokerage’s name. These videos will generate 3x more views than a standard link or image post.

Brokerage Ads using Listing Engine will post listing videos across your agents’ Pages

For enterprise and team accounts wanting to advertise all listings using Listing Engine, videos will be automatically generated and posted to your agents’ Pages. Your brokerage’s branding and details appear on every listing, so they look consistent across every agent’s Page.

Your every-other-day content moves to native video and images

The automated content that Back At You Social posts for you is moving to native video and images. The few link-based posts in the old mix, like shared articles, will be removed. Your Page stays active on the same schedule with the same branding.

Every Page is being prepared now

Because the link limit can reach a Page without warning, we’ll be rolling out these updates monthly. There’s nothing for you to check. As Meta refines the rules, we’ll adapt and let you know.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are the link limitations currently impacting posts being published through Back At You Social?

All of our accounts are posting content as intended that include videos, images, and links. However, we want to get ahead of the change and Back At You is preparing every Page for the limit now, so your automated posting keeps running on the same schedule with the same branding. Posts that used to rely on links are moving to videos. There’s nothing you need to check or change as we’ll be rolling out changes monthly throughout the remainder of the year.

Do I need listing videos on my plan to benefit from this change?

No. Every Back At You Social account moves off link posts. Accounts with listing video (Enterprise accounts and Bronze and above subscriptions) get listing videos and accounts on a lower tier will use a branded image.

Do real estate agents need to pay for Meta One?

No, not to keep Back At You posting running. Back At You Social is moving listing posts and everyday content to listing videos and other native formats that don’t use your link allowance. A paid Meta One plan raises the number of link posts a Page can publish, which only matters if you plan to post more than two links a month yourself. Whether you plan on buying a Meta One subscription or not, that will not affect your Back At You account. We will not use any of your link allowance.

Do links in Facebook comments count toward the link limit?

Yes. According to Meta’s in-app notice and its Help Center article on links in organic Page posts and comments, links placed in comments count toward the same monthly allowance as links in posts. Early coverage of the test described comment links as unlimited, so older advice to put your link in the first comment no longer holds. Also, keep in mind Facebook is telling you links receive the lowest engagement by far (0.03%) of any content, so if you use them, don’t expect much.

How does the new lead generation work?

Your posts are now built to start conversations, not send people away to a link. When a listing or local market post catches someone’s eye, Back At You Social makes it easy for them to reach out to you right on your social networks. It’s a shorter path from interest to a real lead, and it happens where buyers and sellers already spend their time. We want to create better one-on-one conversations in the app.
