Perhaps you’ve heard people say that video is the future of social media content. Well, here’s even more evidence that Facebook agrees! Your Facebook business page now allows you to upload a short video to the top of your profile rather than an image. The video has to be relatively short (20-90 seconds), but even a short video will grab the attention of your page visitors. (Your video should also be at least 820 X 312 pixels.)
Cover videos are preset to have the sound muted, but users can hear the video by manually flipping the sound on. Facebook recently said that this cover video option is currently available to about 80% of pages, with that number increasing every day as they roll out the new feature.
So what does this mean for you? Well, as a real estate professional, you can use a cover video in a variety of ways. You could upload a virtual tour of one of your new listings, or maybe one or two testimonials from some of your clients. There are plenty of possibilities! Here’s an example we created where we used some of our new Branded Video content as a video cover.
Social videos are becoming more and more of a trend. According to Brightclove, social media videos generate 1200% more shares than text and images combined. That’s one of the reasons we recently added Branded Videos to our content lineup!
Cover videos are just another great way for you to engage and connect with current and prospective clients. If you’re wondering about those users who really only use Facebook on their phones, these cover videos work on mobile as well. You don’t have to use one, but you never know who might linger on your business page a little longer because they’re watching the video!
