A quality LinkedIn profile will help present yourself as an experienced and knowledgeable professional in the real estate world. Potential clients and future employers will be able to see all of your qualifications before selecting you to sell/buy them a home (or come work for them). Here are five simple things your LinkedIn profile needs to put you in the best position to be successful.

A PROFESSIONAL, HIGH-QUALITY, REPRESENTATIVE PHOTO

Your photo is usually the first thing people look at when they land on your profile, so you’ll want to select a great picture. It may seem like a no-brainer, but a smiling photo is proven to be more appealing. You’ll want also want the photo to be just you; with no one else in the shot.

A HEADLINE THAT CATCHES EYES

Your headline is also one of the first things people see when they look you up on LinkedIn. You’ll want a strong, concise phrase that clearly shows that you’re a real estate pro. Something like “Motivated and Experienced Realtor” would suffice.

YOUR CONNECTIONS

People want to work with a well-connected, personable agent. Use your LinkedIn connections to show off your prowess. Potential clients will not only want to see your experience in the industry, but also how many connections you have in the industry as well. And, in addition, good networking skills are always attractive.

ENDORSEMENTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

You might want to ask some of your former clients and colleagues to “endorse” you for certain skills and/or write you a recommendation on your LinkedIn. It’s a great way to show that others think you do a great job and that you actually posses the skills you list on your page.

A LINK TO YOUR WEBSITE/FACEBOOK PAGE

While your LinkedIn page might be helpful, ultimately, real estate isn’t done on LinkedIn; it’s simply a jumping-off point. You’ll want to include a link to a site where interested parties can view your listings and get in contact with you directly so you can close that lead!
